The Ivors Academy has announced a new flagship summit for 2025, designed to equip songwriters and composers with ‘practical knowledge, tools and connections to build and sustain successful careers’.
Set to be held at BFI IMAX Waterloo in London on 20 May, the event will take place during ‘Ivors Week’ — with The Ivors, the academy’s annual awards ceremony celebrating outstanding songwriters and screen composers, set to take place in the capital on 22 May.
Described as a ‘dynamic one-day event’, The Ivors Academy Summit will feature a mix of podcast-style conversations and interactive sessions covering topics such as global music publishing from a creator’s perspective, data and rights management, the impact of AI, creator remuneration and emerging revenue streams.
Leading voices from across the music industry, including acclaimed songwriters, composers and industry experts, are set to be in attendance to further ‘champion the value of music creators… and create a practical toolkit to help creators navigate key industry challenges and opportunities’.
Roberto Neri, CEO of The Ivors Academy, said in a statement: ‘During the fifth annual Ivors Week, we are further expanding our celebration and support for music creators beyond the Ivor Novello Awards, offering real lasting value to our creative community.
‘From learning how to navigate the music industry and how it is changing to knowledge about your rights and how you’re paid, we will empower music creators to make the right choices in order to sustain successful careers.’
