Apple has announced the launch of its new iTunes Radio service in the US on 18 September.

The tech manufacturer revealed news of the date at a conference where it also announced the arrival of the new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

According to Apple, the new service is a free streaming radio platform which will ‘bring together stations you’ll love from day one. And the more you listen, the more personalised your stations become’.

In a press release, the firm said iTunes Radio will feature over 200 stations and a catalogue of music from the iTunes Store. The stations will be stored on iCloud, meaning that users can access this music on more than one device.

iTunes Radio will be available on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac, PC and Apple TV and is expected to rival the likes of Spotify and Last.fm.

A UK launch date has yet to be announced.
