SXSW is one of the most anticipated events in the music industry calendar, and 2011 is no exception.
Over 36 acts will be heading to SXSW courtesy of British Music Abroad, a funding programme which gives British acts the funding they need to perform at international showcases. Since the scheme was set up in 2006, over 165 acts it has funded have gone on to achieve success and international recognition.
We'll be speaking to some of those acts over the next week - so for a unique insight into what it's like at SXSW for an artist, visit M for daily updates.
Held annually in Austin, Texas, SXSW celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year and attendees can look forward to another week packed with showcase performances from hundreds of musical acts from around the globe, who have been touted as 'ones to watch'.
SXSW also features events such as panel discussions featuring some of the industry's key players. PRS for Music will be going to SXSW as part of the British Music @ SXSW group which includes AIM, Belfast City Council, BPI, Creative Scotland, Fast Forward, Liverpool Sound City, PPL and UK Trade & Investment.
