The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has opened a call for views on Intellectual Property (IP) and industrial strategy.

The consultation is welcoming feedback from any business or organisation working within an IP sector, such as music, plus any suggestions on how the IPO can encourage increased collaboration, creation and exploitation of IP.

In particular, the office wants to hear from users of the current IP system, with a white paper scheduled for publication later this year based on feedback and suggestions.

It said in a statement: ‘As the government sets out its plans for an ambitious new industrial strategy, the IPO is seeking views to form part of our contribution to the next phase of the strategy.

'We are looking for your views on a range of specific ways we can get innovators to work together more effectively and get the most out of their IP.’

The consultation is open until 15 November. For more info, and to have your say, see https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/industrial-strategy-intellectual-property-call-for-views
