Mercury Prize nominees The Invisible helped launched a new partnership between Goldsmiths University and online music broadcaster, the Boiler Room.
The Goldsmiths Sessions is a new show presented by the Boiler Room featuring up-and-coming alumni, bands and established artists. The Invisible played a special live set for the first event on 13 September.
Jazz trio The Comet is Coming are expected to perform in the next show in October with four-six editions to be broadcast each year.
The plan is to run four to six shows a year, streamed on the Boiler Room site and then available on YouTube.
Mikko Gordon, head of Goldsmiths Music Studios, said: ‘I first made contact with Boiler Room while working with Thom Yorke (Radiohead) and was impressed by the scale of their operation and high production values. Collaborating with them seemed like a natural fit.
‘The new partnership with Boiler Room will allow us to promote the Goldsmiths Music Studios while showcasing amazing performances from interesting bands and artists and I’m hoping to be able showcase Department of Music alumni in the future.’
Details of new shows will be posted on the GMS twitter feed in advance.
