Business secretary Vince Cable and Mike Weatherley, MP and IP advisor to David Cameron, are among the speakers at the International IP Enforcement Summit 2014.

Taking place in London on 11 and 12 June, the two day event will see a whole host of industry experts appearing to explore the challenges and opportunities surrounding international IP enforcement.

Vince Cable will give an opening address on the first morning while Mike will speak alongside the BPI’s chief executive Geoff Taylor on challenging the misuse of copyright material.

Other speakers include UK minister for Culture, Media and Sport Ed Vaizey and Rob Wainwright, director of Europol.

According to organisers, the summit will ‘increase engagement between national and international partners in combating counterfeiting and piracy’ as well as ‘support interaction and sharing of successful examples of international best practice strategies and techniques’.

The event is supported by the UK Intellectual Property Office, the European Commission and Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market.
