Following the success of its first online conference, The Association of Independent Music (AIM), has announced that its Great Escape Conference programme, AIM House, will also take place as full day virtual event.

AIM House has previously been held at The Great Escape to provide a home and hub for independent music businesses at the festival.

This year, the event will be presented as a live and interactive virtual conference on Friday 15 May, hosted via the AIM House website.

The full day of programming from AIM includes panels, workshops and speed networking sessions covering the latest key issues for the independent sector.

Content for one of the three virtual 'rooms' will be delivered in partnership with CMU Insights, who also programme and present the core conference strands at The Great Escape each May.

Themes of discussion will focus on business areas that are still viable during COVID-19, practical measures that attendees can learn from and enact straight away. Confirmed panel topics include livestreaming for the long-term, building on sudden online success and a post-COVID-19/Brexit visa workshop.

Speakers join the conference from companies including Brownswood Recordings, Full Time Hobby, GigRev, Julie’s Bicycle, Key Production, Ninja Tune and Viva la Visa.

The event will be free to all, but attendees are required to RVSP.

To support those suffering a significant income loss as a result of COVID-19, AIM launched the Crisis Support Fund last month. AIM’s fund is aimed at contractors working in independent music and is open to applications and pledges.
