The deal, effective from January 2016, is for the world excluding North America.

The news coincides with the announcement that Miller will be inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame later this year.

Formed in 1968 in San Francisco, The Steve Miller Band has been a mainstay of the American music scene for over five decades.

Having released 21 albums, from their debut Children of the Future, through to Sailor, Brave New World, Your Saving Grace, Number 5, Rock Love, The Joker, Fly Like An Eagle and Book Of Dreams.

Miller’s classic songs include Fly Like an Eagle, The Joker, Space Cowboy and Dance, Dance, Dance.

The Steve Miller band is as active today as they ever were and tours regularly each year.

André de Raaff, Imagem Group chief executive, said: ‘I know Steve personally since the beginning of the nineties releasing his Best Of album in Europe, when I was chief executive of Arcade and was looking after his music publishing catalogue in Europe. We stayed friends and started doing business again a few years ago.

‘I’m pleased that we are going to look after his catalogue on a more global basis and I’m convinced that we will be extremely successful with his timeless compositions. Steve is one of the best US pop composers of our times and an exceptional guitar player as well. Janice is a unique force in reactivating his extremely valuable music assets.’

Miller recently chatted to us about the making of his hit single The Joker. Read the story behind the song: http://www.m-magazine.co.uk/features/wrote-joker/
