Independent music publishing Imagem has announced a new global deal with Apple Publishing.

The new partnership includes works from iconic British band Badfinger, whose hit Baby Blue was used in the final episode of the hit TV show Breaking Bad.

The group are perhaps best known for their 1970 work Without You. Written for their album No Dice, Without You became an international hit for Harry Nilsson in 1971 and later for Mariah Carey in 1994.

The song also landed writers Pete Ham and Tom Evans of Badfinger an Ivor Novello Award.

John Minch, Imagem Music UK’s chief executive officer, said: ‘Apple Publishing has some wonderful copyrights from a golden era of songwriting.

‘To partner with Apple is a real privilege and we look forward to working this catalogue globally. We will really give these songs our love and attention.’

Imagem Music’s catalogue includes some of the biggest hitmakers in pop such as Pink Floyd, Elvis Presley, Sammy Cahn, Phil Collins and Daft Punk.
