Telegram, Elf Kid, The Pearl Harts and Mullally are among the artists lined up for a showcase of their Emerging Artists Fund (EAF) programme.
Taking place at London’s Lexington on Tuesday 10 May, the event will show off the talents of artists to have come through PledgeMusic and Help Musicians UK’s joint new talent venture.
The EAF launched in 2015 and has since seen more than 350 UK acts apply for the £50,000 funding scheme, together with an opportunity to run their own PledgeMusic campaign.
A panel of expert judges including Tom Robinson (6Music), Steve Levine (record producer), Kwame Kwaten (ATC Management), VV Brown (artist), Paul Lester (Music Journalist), Sean Adams (Drowned In Sound), Tor Ree (A&R Polydor Records) and more selected a total of 20+ acts to benefit from the scheme.
Paul Barton, PledgeMusic UK managing director and co-sponsors of the showcase, told Music Week: ‘I’m delighted by the overall success of the Emerging Artists Fund and even more so that we can present some of the artists live on stage. PledgeMusic is committed to helping artists at all stages of their career and particularly to be part of the process that uncovers new talent as this programme with Help Musicians UK has proved to be.’
Claire Gevaux, creative director Help Musicians UK added: ‘We’ve been looking at new ways to channel much-needed support to musicians in the early stages of their careers. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with PledgeMusic over the past year to identify upcoming acts, invest in their potential and to celebrate the success of the Fund at this highly anticipated showcase evening.’
