The Oh Yeah Music Centre and Generator North East are among Help Musicians UK’s new partners receiving funding to develop new artists.
The charity’s network of Artist Development Partners will receive £5,000 grants to work with emerging musical talents.
Cornwall Music Forum, Generator North East, Doncaster’s Higher Rhythm, Merseyside Arts Foundation and Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast are the first partners to be chosen.
Stuart Bailie, chief executive of Oh Yeah Music Centre, Belfast, said: ‘The Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast is delighted to be working with Help Musicians UK as an Artist Development Partner in 2015.
‘We see huge potential next year in terms of artist support, creative input into programming and access to music industry contacts. The talent is here and we're sure that we can now take it further.’
Proposals were considered by a panel of independent music industry advisors including Ally McCrae (DJ and founder of Detour Music), Jonathan Robinson (director of Music Tank), Andy Ellis (education and outreach manager at PRS for Music) and Kerry Harvey-Piper (Red Grape Records and Management).
The charity’s pilot initiative picked organisations on their ability to deliver innovative programmes to help emerging artists in the next stages of their career.
