The PRS Members’ Fund, which provides financial support and welfare advice to PRS members and their families, has launched its annual Winter Heating Scheme which is open until March 2022.
This year has been particularly challenging with the pandemic, and the current fuel crisis and rise in energy prices could make this a very difficult winter for some. The scheme is here to give financial support to eligible PRS members who are worried about turning on the heating during the colder months.
Eligibility
The scheme is here to help vulnerable PRS members who are aged 65+ or long-term sick and need help this winter to pay their heating bills.
PRS members are eligible if they:
- Live in the UK
- Are aged 65+ or are long-term sick (and are any age)
- Receive any of the following: a means tested benefit, sickness benefit, state pension or pension credit (the Fund will request proof of these during the application process)
- Joined PRS before 2 November 2014 or joined at any time and have earned at least £500 in royalties since joining
- Have earned less than £5,000 in PRS royalties so far in 2021
