Calling all aspiring songwriters and tech heads - help create a song online with CrowdSound by voting for the next note in a melody.
Website crowdsound.net has launched an appeal for votes for what the site is dubbing an ‘experiment in crowd-sourced songwriting’.
Anyone can help influence the next note in the melody by voting via the website.
According to those behind the project, ‘the melody is currently being generated, note by note, in real-time, using the popular vote of the crowd’.
‘Will the Wisdom of the Crowd create something special? This melody will eventually become a song with a chord structure of C, G, Am, F repeated 18 times. It will have a structure of (Verse / Verse / Chorus / Verse / Chorus / Conclusion). Lyrics for this song will also be crowd-generated in our next experiment.’
So far more than 7,000 people have voted on the next note of the experiment to feature.
CrowdSound is using HTML5 Piano and Kyster Guitar Notes to make the sounds.
