Robert Plant, Femi Kuti and I Am Kloot are among the acts performing at Guy Garvey’s Meltdown Festival 2016.
Taking place at London’s Southbank, 10-19 June, Guy will follow in the footsteps of previous directors Jarvis Cocker, Patti Smith and David Byrne.
The Staves, Connan Mockasin and This Is The Kit are also among the first wave of announced artists on the bill.
Commenting on the event, Guy said: ‘Much like my work on TV and radio I see this as the perfect opportunity to shine a light on some amazing new talent while recognising and celebrating the artists that have had an influence on the new sounds of today.
‘Beyond that I want my Meltdown to be a party where everyone feels invited and everyone leaves having had the best night out.’
Guy Garvey is lead singer of Elbow, a 6 Music DJ, presenter of BBC iPlayer’s Music Box with Guy Garvey and latterly solo artist.
