The British Council are now offering the second round of their new grants scheme to UK musicians and professionals seeking creative development opportunities in Russia.

The open call for applications from composers, conductors, performers, librettists, sound artists and event producers is now open for grants of up to £3,000.

The grants are designed to enable individuals to travel to Russia to develop new collaborative ideas and creative partnerships.

The Russia grants scheme is for individuals who have an existing interest in or contact with Russia, and a strong project idea.

Applications may be considered from applicants who haven’t previously worked with Russian partners, provided they have connections in mind or have already committed to a project.

The UK-Russia Year of Music launched in March and runs until April 2020.

The programme aims to support sharing and exchange between musicians and music professionals across all genres and all parts of the two countries.

Additionally, it will encourage shared opportunities for professional collaboration between individuals and institutions like agencies, promoters, conservatories and music schools.

The deadline for applications is 15 July 2019.
