Grammy Awards 2014 nominees announced

Disclosure, Ed Sheeran and Daft Punk are among the artists and groups nominated for the 2014 Grammy Awards.

Disclosure, Ed Sheeran and Daft Punk are among the artists and groups nominated for the 2014 Grammy Awards.

The new dance duo’s Settle has been shortlisted for best dance/electronica album while Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories will be up against the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift for album of the year.

Brits Ed Sheeran and James Blake will be taking on Macklemore & Lewis, Kendrick and Kasey Musgraves for best new artist.

Overall Jay-Z received the most nominations with nine in every rap category for his latest album Magna Carta Holy Grail.

Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy, said: ‘This year's nominations reflect the talented community of music makers who represent some of the highest levels of excellence and artistry of the year in their respective fields.’
