British music producer, drum & bass DJ and actor Goldie is the latest artist to present a mix in Ministry of Sound’s Masterpiece series.
He follows in the footsteps of David Rodigan, Andrew Weatherall, Fabio and Grooverider and Gilles Peterson in showcasing the music which has inspired him over the course of his career via a three disc mix.
The release is split into The Alpha, Journeyman and Headzville and shows off early inspirations such as Soul II Soul and Terry Callier through to d’n’b classics from Nookie and Roni Size.
The third disc features some of the best artists signed to Goldie’s own label Metalheadz.
Goldie set up the imprint 20 years ago as well as his Metalheadz Sunday Sessions’ club night, which achieved legendary status at London’s Blue Note club.
