Decca Publishing has announced the signing of British electronic composer, producer and performer Will Gregory.

Although best known as one half of the multi-platinum-selling electronic pop duo Goldfrapp, Gregory’s classical output also forms a considerable part of his career.

He has, most recently, composed the music for the acclaimed new film Arcadia with Adrian Utley from Portishead.

Gregory is currently working on a project with the British Paraorchestra, entitled The Nature of Why, a performance piece merging dance and a live score.

Having premiered at Bristol Old Vic earlier this summer, The Nature of Why will be at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London in September as part of Unlimited Festival 2018.

Gregory said of his new signing: ‘I am really excited to be working with the Decca Publishing team. They are drawing from a very wide pool of expertise to bring together all the disparate musical threads that I think are needed for in-depth music publishing these days.

‘They have a great stable of composers that I am proud to be counted among, and it’s clear they are incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about a diverse range of music. Decca is the perfect fit for me because I love all kinds of music and enjoy crossing genres, as do they. I am very much looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting down to work with them.’

Under the leadership of Natasha Baldwin, Decca Publishing has been building a roster of innovative composers, including Max Richter.

Baldwin said: ‘We are extremely pleased to welcome Will to Decca Publishing. He has been a pioneer of electronic music for the last 20 years and is hugely respected for his impact in developing and expanding this musical space.

‘Will’s ability to blend musical styles and cross genres and is what makes him such an important voice in the contemporary music scene, when audiences want something innovative and exciting. We are hugely excited to help further amplify his artistry around the world.’
