Glastonbury has been named as the most influential music festival for music streaming, new data from Spotify has revealed.

Glastonbury has been named as the most influential music festival for music streaming, new data from Spotify has revealed.

According to the music streaming and subscription service, performances at the UK event by headliners such as Kasabian, Metallica and Arcade Fire boosted their streaming performance by 78 percent.

Territorially, Glastonbury headliners experienced a 57 percent rise in streams in the UK, while achieving a 60 percent increase in the US.

Emily Eavis, Glastonbury organiser, said: ‘It's amazing to think that the music we hear in these fields in Somerset at festival time is reaching out to so many people.’
