Calling all female singers, songwriters, rappers and producers – Girls I Rate’s #GETHEARD listening weekender returns for 2018 and is now taking submissions.

The A&R event will provide the UK’s hottest female talent aged between 16 and 30 with the chance to showcase their original songs to executives working across the music industry.

It will be hosted by writer-producer and Girls I Rate founder Carla-Marie Williams, who’s written songs for Beyonce, Britney Spears alongside platinum-selling producer-artist Naughty Boy.

It’s presented in association with PRS for Music, and will take place at the collecting society’s Kings Cross HQ in London on Saturday 30 June.

Anyone interested in applying should submit a Soundcloud link with a maximum of two songs by 1 June. All successful applicants will be notified by 11 June.

Girls I Rate is a non-profit organisation set up in 2016 to empower females in music while pushing for change and equality in the creative industries.

Williams took part in our recent #PressForProgress series to mark International Women’s Day 2018. Hear her thoughts on women in music, how the industry is changing and what the future looks like here.
