The10th edition of the international conference and showcase takes place on 23 to 26 September at various venues around Hamburg, Germany.
Tom Silverman, founder of independent label Tommy Boy Records, will deliver a keynote speech entitled The Music Business is NOT the Record Business to explore music's value and how it might change.
Burak Özgen, senior legal advisor at European authors’ society GESAC, will lead a discussion on the ‘value gap’ to explore the ‘mismatch between the value that certain digital platforms extract from music and the value that is returned to rightsholders’.
He will be joined by IFPI’s Patrick Charnley, Michael Krause of Deezer, Germany, and Dr. Kai Welp from German collecting society GEMA.
Elsewhere, Dorothy Hui, vice president of digital business at Sony Music Entertainment UK, will explore new business models and the technology driving them in a session entitled Re-Made, Re-Modelled.
Andreya Triana, Palma Violets, Lapsley and Lucy Rose are among the scores of UK acts to play at the associated Reeperbahn Festival.
