Synth pop legend Gary Numan is among the second wave of artists confirmed to be playing at SXSW 2014.

Gary Numan’s influence still reverberates in the music of other performers with the likes of Trent Reznor, Kanye West and Queens of the Stone Age all citing the songwriter as an inspiration.

He recently released his first full-length studio album since 2006, Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind), which has been universally applauded by critics and fans alike.

Bipolar Sunshine, Cloud Boat, PINs and Public Service Broadcasting are among the list of other notable British talents making the journey across the pond to perform at the festival.

SXSW organisers have also announced the first panels to be confirmed for the 2014 event, which runs 7-16 March next year.

Topics to be discussed by industry experts include are brands the new tastemakers? How to build the right team around your music? and new adventures in copyright enforcement.
