Northern Irish singer songwriter Foy Vance has been named as the second signing to Ed Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Records.

Foy is originally from Bangor, Northern Ireland but now lives in Scotland. He won the 2013 Northern Ireland Music Prize for his second album Joy of Nothing.

He is the second signing to the label after debut signing Jamie Lawson went to number one with his self-titled LP.

Foy and Ed Sheeran are long-term friends who have frequently collaborated with each other in the past.

Commenting, Ed Sheeran said: ‘I am very happy to reveal Foy Vance as my second signing to Gingerbread Man Records. Foy's always been an artist I've admired since meeting him in 2006.

‘We've become touring buddies over the past few years and he's actually out in Australia with me at the moment on the final leg of my x tour. His vocals are going to blow you away and I can't wait for you all to hear the record.’

Foy's first album for Gingerbread Man Records is expected to be released in the spring of 2016.

He is currently on tour in Australia and New Zealand, where he is supporting Ed Sheeran and Elton John.
