From Me to You (FM2U) music conference for independent musicians is set to return to Glasgow for its sophomore year.

The event aims to support music-makers and innovators in the new music industry, acting as a platform for artists to share experiences, contacts and ideas.

This year’s edition, which takes place on Saturday 17 August, will feature four artist-led panel debates exploring how artists can build sustainable careers, as well as networking opportunities and Q&As with inspirational artists.

Speakers for FM2U Glasgow include award-winning artist entrepreneur ShaoDow, singer songwriters Emily Kelly (Jellyman's Daughter), Rosie Bans and representatives from Kingdom Management, Emubands and Featured Artist Coalition.

FM2U Glasgow is supported by Help Musicians UK and sponsored by the Association of Independent Music (AIM), PPL and music distributor Emubands.

The event’s founder and independent musician Roxanne de Bastion said: ‘The decentralisation of the industry has allowed for new models to emerge and for pro-active musicians and their supporters to create and stay in charge of their careers – it's a really exciting time to be a musician!’

Lucy Bampton, head of creative programme at Help Musicians UK, added: ‘Here at Help Musicians we know how important it is for music creators to retain their independence, collaborate and build networks with like-minded peers, and access industry expertise regularly. From Me to You offers all this, and more, and we’re delighted to support it in London and Glasgow in 2019.’

Below, you can watch a panel from last year's conference on the importance of failure in the creative process, led by de Bastion and featuring Martin Mills (Beggars Group), C J Thorpe-Tracey (Lo Fi Arts), Laima Leyton (GRRRL) and artist Lisbee Stainton.
