It has been a long time coming, but the Official Charts Company has announced today that Florence + The Machine are due to claim their first number one single with Spectrum (Say My Name).
Florence Welch's trademark powerful vocals and inspiring instrumentals resulted in a track that has mass appeal, and it has since been remixed by Calvin Harris and London duo AlunaGeorge. The single also has an illustrious, cinematic video, directed by well known photographer David LaChapelle.
Despite massive commercial success both at home and away, Florence + The Machine have never actually claimed a number one single before, with You've Got The Love only ever making it to number five. However, both 2009's Lungs and last year's album Ceremonials were both number one albums.
