South London band Floodliners took home the prestigious PRS for Music Songwriting Award at the Next BRIT Thing final last night.
The event took place on 6 March at the Indigo2 in London. The PRS for Music Songwriting Award was one of three awards up for grabs, the other categories were General and Classical music.

Floodliners, aged between 15-18 years old were presented with their award by PRS Chairman Guy Fletcher OBE following the band's fantastic performance at the event. Floodliners won a day’s studio session with a top music producer in Strongroom Studios, Shoreditch - part of the world famous AIR Studios Group.
The Next BRIT Thing champions the musical talent and creativity of young people aged 11 to 19 years old. Entrants uploaded their tracks for public vote before a panel of judges selected the finalists.
The spectacular final was compered by Mojo & Max from Choice FM and judges on the night were McFly, Laura Wright, Noah Stewart and Mike Smith.
The other winners on the night were Paul Shevlin from Belfast who won in the General category and 16 year-old pianist Sarah Gardner who took home the Classical prize.
