Escott first came to prominence in 2005 with his score to the psychological horror film Hard Candy, directed by David Slade.

Since then, he has worked with renowned directors including Michael Winterbottom on both A Mighty Heart and The Road To Guantanamo, Nick Broomfield (Ghosts) and Steve McQueen (Shame).

He has also composed scores for a number of feature documentaries including the multi award winning The Arbor, a portrayal of the late Bradford playwright Andrea Dunbar, and Axis Of Light, an observation of the influences of conflict on eight leading artists from the Middle East.

For television, Escott has scored the BBC 1 four-part crime drama What Remains, a four-part urban drama entitled Run for Channel 4 and, most recently, New Worlds, a new historical drama by Peter Flannery, also for Channel 4.

Escott, born in London in 1976, studied at The Royal College of Music and Somerville College, Oxford University, under Robert Sherlaw-Johnson and Francis Pott.
