The company said it would publish all its song data, including full writer credits and country of origin information, in a bid to make its catalogue more transparent to potential licensees.
The enhancement to the data repository will even allow licensees to get a list of all the songs controlled by UMPG
When launched, it will initially carry only UMPG’s US catalogue but eventually it will carry information on all songs controlled by the company around the world.
Michael J Sammis, UMPG executive vice president of operations and chief financial officer, said: ‘As the licensing environment changes, we want to be transparent and responsive to the needs of licensees and users.
‘A comprehensive song repository helps ensure UMPG is positioned to best serve those licensees both now and in the future.’
The database will be available at www.umusicpub.com
