Composers and sound designers involved are called on to enter their projects to this year’s International Music+Sound Awards.

For the second year of the contest, the categories fall into four main groups - best original composition, best use of existing music, best sound design and best use of production music.

Previous winners of the awards include The Hunger Games’ trailer (Pusher, composers: Stefania Ziliotto & Lorenzo Montana), Downton Abbey (Carnival Films and Television Limited, Hackenbacker) and the films Brave (Cutting Edge Group, composer: Patrick Doyle) and Moonrise Kingdom (Imagem Creative Services, music supervisor: Randall Poster).

Brian Monaco, EVP at Sony/ATV Music Publishing, said: ‘It's really exciting to be part of the International Music+ Sound Awards again this year. Providing a mark of excellence for the crafts of music and sound design is something that is long overdue and a dedicated Awards ceremony like this will once again help reward those that excel in these fields.

The jury contains such industry figure-heads as Tree Adams (composer: Californication, All Things Fall Apart), Loren Parkins (senior vice president, executive music and radio producer, BBDO New York) and Mary Ramos (music supervisor: Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained).

Entries can be made at www.masawards.com/international - all submissions need to be made by 31 March 2014.
