Dumb Ways To Think is a new competition calling on songwriters to challenge views on sectarianism.
The free competition is offering a £1,000 top prize to the songwriter who best highlights negative attitudes based on inter Christian religious differences.
A £250 runners up prize will be up for grabs as well as a £250 prize for the best original short video on anti-sectarianism.
Professional songwriter Robert Maitland is leading the contest.
Robert said: ‘Scotland’s song writing promotion and development body Burnsong are proud to host the song writing competition Dumb Ways To Think.
‘Burnsong, with the support of the Voluntary Action Fund, Scottish Government, SmartIndie and EM Records are calling on songwriters to write an original song to highlight and discredit sectarian beliefs.’
Songwriters can be of any ages and need to submit original material which they own the rights to.
A list of discredited beliefs including sectarian beliefs will be supplied by the competition organisers. It is expected that these will form the basis of the song submission.
The closing date for entries is the 4 October with the winner being announced on the 30 November.
