Calling all emerging jazz talent - the BBC’s Young Jazz Musician 2018 Award is now open for entries.
Entrants are invited to submit a video of themselves performing on any instrument, including voice, in any genre of jazz before 15 June 2018.
Applicants must be aged 21 or under on 1 September 2018, and also be a UK resident.
Shortlisted musicians will be notified by 5 July, with a semi-final scheduled for September. The final will hosted at the EFG London Jazz Festival on 24 November.

BBC Young Jazz Musician was established in 2014 to provide a platform for the UK’s most talented young jazz performers. The competition has run biennially since then.
The 2014 winner was saxophonist Alexander Bone. Since winning, he has continued to pursue jazz and electronic music, playing, producing and arranging with a range of artists, including Nile Rodgers and Rudimental.
2016’s winner was Alexandra Ridout, whose recent highlights have seen included performing with Clark Tracey’s Quintet, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and her own band The Alexandra Ridout Quintet. She studies at the Royal Academy of Music.
