Ellie Goulding has set a new all-time streaming record with her latest single Love Me Like You Do, which received more than 2.8 million plays in a week.
The previous record holder was Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars, with a tally of 2.56 million.
Goulding’s song, from the Fifty Shades of Grey film, also enjoyed a third week at the top of the UK Singles Chart with combined sales of 118,000, according to the Official Charts Company (OCC).
Nine other songs have been streamed over one million times this week, including the Ronson and Bruno Mars track (2.02m), Hozier’s Take Me To Church (1.89m), The Weeknd’s Earned It (1.48m) and Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud (1.38m).
Elsewhere, Florence + The Machine makes her first Top 40 appearance in over two years with new single What Kind of Man, which climbed 20 places to 37.
