Ella Henderson’s single Ghost is the biggest selling song of the summer, new data from the Official Charts Company has revealed.

Ella Henderson’s single Ghost is the biggest selling song of the summer, new data from the Official Charts Company has revealed.

Figures showed that the number one single notched up sales of 578,000 between June and August 2014.

Ghost was co-written By Ella and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder was top of the charts in June.

Ella said: ‘I am completely overwhelmed by the success of Ghost! To have one of the biggest selling songs of the year is absolutely insane. It doesn't feel real. I can't thank everyone enough for all the support. Thank you!’

Ed Sheeran’s Sing was the second biggest seller while further figures revealed the song to be the most streamed of the summer, having been listened to 13 million times between June and August.
