Eliza Doolittle, Ghostpoet and Skream are among the first wave of artists to be helping launch the seventh Oxjam music festival.

The likes of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Kindness and Psychemagik will be joining these artists over a four night series of launch gigs in a secret Shoreditch location.

According to the charity, these four gigs will launch a month-long series of events across October aimed at raising money for the charity.

Eliza said: ‘I love playing intimate gigs, being so close to the audience makes it a really unforgettable experience, even more so when the purpose of the gig is to help raise awareness of something as brilliant as Oxjam. This gig is only the beginning of a movement of thousands of gigs, club nights and events right across the country, all raising money to fight poverty.’

Dry the River, Greco-Roman signing Roosevelt and indie-soul songstress Josephine will perform the opening night on 23 September.

A series of city-wide mini-festivals taking place in 60 locations across the UK will be held on the weekend of 19 - 20 October as part of the initiative.

During this weekend, some 2,500 bands and acts are expected to perform to an audience of more than 60,000.

Limited tickets for each show are on sale exclusively from www.wegottickets.com/oxjam.
