Singer songwriter Ed Sheeran led the way for British acts at the Grammy Awards picking up two prizes for his hit Thinking Out Loud.
The artist received the nods for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, beating the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift and Ellie Goulding.
Thinking Out Loud, co-written with Amy Wadge, was a number one hit in the UK, spending an impressive 52 consecutive weeks in the top 40 in June 2015. It also reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
Other British winners included Muse who received the award for Best Rock Album for Drones. Elsewhere, the Amy Winehouse documentary, Amy, emerged triumphant in the Best Music Film category.
Other international winners included Taylor Swift who received Album of the Year for 1989 as well as Best Pop Vocal Album.
Meghan Trainor was named as Best New Artist while Skrillex and Diplo’s Jack Ü project won the Best Dance/Electronic Album.
