Thinking Out Loud hitmakers Amy Wadge and Ed Sheeran have returned to collaborating, co-writing this year’s X Factor single When Christmas Comes Around.

Independent publisher BDi Music will manage the co-publishing duties for the track as part of its deal with Amy. The track was written for 2016 X Factor winner Matt Terry.

The song is the first Amy and Ed have shared writing credits on since Thinking Out Loud, the third single from Ed Sheeran’s X album.

The track went to number one in the UK chart in November 2014 after spending 19 weeks in the Top 40, breaking the record for the longest ever ascent to the peak position. It went platinum later that month and returned to the number one spot for a second time in December 2014.

Sarah Liversedge, BDi music managing director, said: ‘The dream team does it again! We’re delighted to share in the Christmas festivities with Amy, Ed, Matt Terry and X Factor. 2016 has been a huge year for Amy and BDi Music.

‘Seeing Thinking Out Loud win Song Of The Year at The Grammys [in 2016] was a real achievement. It doesn’t get better than that … Or does it? I am a very proud indie publisher right now.’
