Calling all female drummers and percussionists from Liverpool and Merseyside: Brighter Sound and Stealing Sheep are looking for musicians to take part in a one-off five day residency and public performance. Find out how to apply here...
The project, led by the electronic-pop trio, will involve five days of collaboration to create 'a powerful new performance in the form of a marching band procession,' to mark the centenary of the suffragette movement.
It will premiere at Liverpool Sound City and take in festival performances at End of the Road and Festival No.6.
Stealing Sheep said of the project: 'We want to work with women from different ages, backgrounds and a mix of musical influences and styles, with a shared vision for celebrating women and suffrage.
'This incredible anniversary has inspired us to create a new piece of music that will come alive during this residency. We want to make a bold statement, bring women together and get loud!'
Successful applicants will work with design, AV and production students from Edge Hill University as well choreographer Kate Cox to create the final performance.
This is the third residency as part of Both Sides Now – Brighter Sound's three-year programme to support, inspire and showcase women in music across the north of England.
Applicants must be aged 18 and over, be from or based in Merseyside, and be an intermediate to advanced level drummer or percussionist.
The deadline for applications is 29 March at 6pm.
