Downtown Music Publishing has acquired independent publisher Salli Isaak Music, home to Grammy Award-winning songwriter Jimmy Napes.
Napes, who is best known for his work with Sam Smith, has also written for Alicia Keys, Disclosure, Ellie Goulding, James Bay, Madonna, Mary J. Blige and Ray BLK.
Napes also co-wrote Clean Bandit’s global hit Rather Be featuring Jess Glynne.
Downtown’s acquisition of Salli Isaak Music Publishing and Salli Isaak Songs brings nearly 700 copyrights to Downtown.
In addition to Napes’ catalogue, the company has picked up the copyrights of Paloma Faith, whose most recent album The Architect featured collaborations with Pharrell Williams, Diane Warren and Samuel L. Jackson.
Roberto Neri, managing director of Downtown UK, told Billboard: ‘Clearly every publisher in town would have loved to have won this deal. For us, it’s meaningful to represent writers of this calibre and the back catalogue that we’ve acquired.’
He added that Jimmy Napes and Paloma Faith are ‘two of the best British songwriters of our time.’
Other songwriters and artists represented by Downtown include Naughty Boy, Imogen Heap, Goldie, Kano, Izzy Bizu, Charlie Sloth and Sacha Skarbek.
Its roster also includes songs by The Beatles, John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Ryan Tedder, Benny Blanco, Hans Zimmer, The Kinks and One Direction.
