Laika Network will host two events with on music funding, exploring the best public and crowdfunding options available for new artists.
Taking place on 13 September, Funding for Musicians will see a panel of experts and artists explore public funding opportunities, covering funding bodies, how and when to apply and the quirks of various applications and conditions.
Panellists include 2015 Mercury Prize nominee ESKA, who received PRS For Music Foundation and Arts, Matthew Grear, artist manager of Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and composer, DJ, multi-instrumentalist and music producer Andy Leung.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday 18 October 2016 a panel of artists and managers will explore the crowdfunding opportunities available. The line up of speakers is yet to be confirmed.
Rebecca Lammers, Laika Network chief executive officer, said: ‘This is a wonderful opportunity for both experienced musicians and those just starting out to gain a wider understanding of artist funding in today’s music industry.
‘Through expert panels of artists and managers that have actually been there and done it, we aim to shed some light on the fundraising process and help people understand the whole cycle of music funding, from project inception to - where relevant - return on investment.’
