The Ivors Academy is offering a 50 percent discount on tickets to the upcoming In Conversation With: Daniel Kidane composers’ event.
PRS for Music members are eligible for discount, with the event taking place on 19 September at The Ministry, London.
The evening session offers an opportunity to hear about Kidane’s composing career as he speaks about his craft and the creative process behind his works, including the recent Proms commission.
As an active member of The Ivors Academy’s classical committee, he’ll share insight about his cross-genre inspirations, the changing nature of the industry and what the future holds for classical music.
British Composer Award winner Gary Carpenter will also be on hand to share his insights.
Since graduating from Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Carpenter, Kidane has gone on to write celebrated orchestral works and commissions for the likes of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, CBSO Youth Orchestra, Chineke! Orchestra and the BBC Philharmonic.
The composer's multi-cultural heritage informs his music and can be heard throughout his work, capturing social and racial injustice, and often exploring inclusion, diversity and social narratives.
