Creative Industries minister Nigel Adams has chosen one album from the last seven decades to display in his ministerial office.
Adams chose to show his support for the UK music industry by showcasing some of the best of British talent in his office at the Department of Digital, Media, Culture and Sport (DCMS) and the albums were donated by the BPI.
Michael Dugher, chief executive, UK Music, says: ‘Nigel Adams has been one of the biggest supporters of the music industry and he’s a huge music fan. It’s no surprise to see him backing the best of British music with a fantastic exhibition right in the middle of the minister’s office at the heart of the DCMS.’
Geoff Taylor, chief executive, BPI and BRIT Awards, comments: ‘We are fortunate that our Minister for Sport, Media and Creative Industries Nigel Adams is a long-term supporter of British music and UK creativity. It’s entirely appropriate that he is showcasing in his office some of the iconic albums that inspired his love of music. We are looking forward to working closely with him on new initiatives that can boost the success of our world-leading music sector.’
The albums chosen by Nigel Adams are as follows:
Lonnie Donegan Showcase (1956)
The Beatles The White Album (1968)
Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon (1973)
Queen Greatest Hits (1981)
Radiohead OK Computer (1997)
