David Bowie leads BRIT Awards 2017

David Bowie was posthumously awarded British Male Solo Artist and Mastercard British Album of the Year for Blackstar at the BRIT Awards.

David Bowie was posthumously awarded British Male Solo Artist and Mastercard British Album of the Year for Blackstar at the BRIT Awards.

Taking place at London’s O2 Arena last night (22 February), the event celebrated the passing of the artist who passed away in January 2016.

Rag'N'Bone Man, currently number one in the album charts, topped off what has been abig few months since winning the Critics’ Choice Award as well the British Breakthrough Act.

This is the first time the same artist has won both Critics' Choice and British Breakthrough Act in the same year.

While grime artists Skepta and Stormzy were both nominated for awards, neither managed to pick up a gong instead performing on the night, the latter guesting with Ed Sheeran
