David Bowie cements role as fashion icon

Celebrated singer songwriter David Bowie is to become the face of Louis Vuitton’s latest TV advertising campaign, according to reports.

Bowie, whose latest album The Next Day is bookies’ favourite to win the Mercury Prize this year, will feature alongside model Arizona Muse in a Venice-filmed campaign due to air this autumn.

Bowie joins a lengthy list of iconic faces to feature in a Louis Vuitton campaign, including Bono, Muhammed Ali and Keith Richards.

The campaign follows Bowie’s hugely successful V&A exhibition earlier this year, which explored the musician’s various guises over the years and spawned a series of music-related events. The show became the museum’s fastest-selling exhibition ever – read our review here.
