David Bowie and Arctic Monkeys among BRIT winners

David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys and Rudimental were among the winners at the BRIT Awards 2014.

David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys and Rudimental were among the winners at the BRIT Awards 2014.

The iconic singer songwriter received the gong for best male solo artist while the Sheffield rock band were awarded prizes for best British group and British album of the year with their much lauded AM.

Rudimental were presented with BRIT for best British single with Waiting All Night, featuring Ella Eyre.

At 67 years-old, David Bowie is the oldest recipient of a BRIT award – it’s also been 18 years since he last won a BRIT.

Supermodel Kate Moss collected the prize on his behalf from Noel Gallagher.

The event featured live performances from many of the winners including Arctic Monkeys, Ellie Goulding and Lorde who played live with Disclosure.
