The event is the first of its kind to recognise and celebrate the indispensable role and outstanding contribution that music and sound design play in the world of visual media.

This year, PRS for Music will present the award for Best Composition in a TV Programme and the nominees include Arnold and Michael Price for Sherlock Series 2, We'll Take Manhattan by Kevin Sargent, John Lunn’s music for Downton Abbey Series 3, Rob Lane’s The Last Weekend and Henka Dance: Dragonfly by Jessica Dannheisser.

Other nominees include Plan B, aka Ben Drew, who has been nominated in the Best Film Score Category for Ill Manors, Elbow in the Best Composition: Trailers and Promos category and Rachel Portman, who has been nominated for The Farmer’s Boy which was used in last year’s Hovis TV ad campaign.

The winners will be unveiled at a ceremony headlined by The Heavy at London’s Troxy on 21 February.

Aimed at professionals working in advertising, film, television, branding, programming, and gaming, the awards are open to anyone who is involved in the creation, composition, sourcing, licensing, briefing and the production of music.
