South London rapper Dave has been crowned the DICE Live Awards Winner 2017.

The rising star beat off competition from Irish electronic duo Bicep, urban jazz songstress IAMDDB and singer-songwriter Rex Orange County to win the title from the ticketing app.

DICE head of music, Russ Tannen said: 'We give the DICE Live Award to the best emerging live act in the UK and Ireland, and Dave’s rise this year sums up the definition of an emerging artist.

'He’s made the small trip yet massive journey from Camden Assembly to KOKO (twice) in the space of just 12 months.

'Dave is an incredible live talent, who has been all over DICE this year as one of the fastest selling, most viewed and most searched artists across any genre.'

Still only 19 years old, Dave has had a massive year, making the BBC Music Sound Of 2017 list and receiving love from US powerhouse Drake who remixed his track Wanna Know and invited him to appear on his compilation More Life.

The nominated acts were voted for by 100 industry tastemakers, venues, promoters and journalists.

Dave is the fourth winner of the prize, following Loyle Carner, Little Simz and Wolf Alice.
