Creators Conference

The, second, Creators Conference will take place in February and focus on music, creativity and authors' rights. Creators, policy-makers and other stakeholders involved in the creation, production, licensing and distribution of music will meet to exchange ideas and debate the future of intellectual property and creativity.

The, second, Creators Conference will take place in February and focus on music, creativity and authors' rights . This event is hosted by the European Composer and Songwriter Alliance (ECSA), which represents the interests of more than 14,000 songwriters and composers from 29 European countries.

The event will open on 2 February with a concert staged in cooperation with the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).

The all-day conference on 3 February is dedicated to the question, of how to deliver music easily, affordably and in high quality to the listener, while protecting the livelihood of the composer. Creators, policy-makers and other stakeholders involved in the creation, production, licensing and distribution of music will meet to exchange ideas and debate the future of intellectual property and creativity.

Panelists include:

  • Eva Lichtenberger, Member of the European Parliament for the Greens/EFA

  • Helienne Lindvall, songwriter, and music and media writer for The Guardian

  • Anna Maria Darmanin, Vice-President of the EESC

  • Alain Chamfort, singer and composer

  • Maria Martin-Prat, Head of Unit "Copyright" in the European Commission's DG Internal Market


ECSA's aim, in organizing the conference, is to take a significant step forward in the ongoing search for a fair balance between the needs of the creator and those of the user.
