Cooking Vinyl has announced plans to celebrate its 30th anniversary with live gigs, book and a new fund investing £30,000 in emerging acts.

The label was launched in 1986 by Martin Goldschmidt and his original business partner Pete Lawrence and has released music by a whole host of artists including Billy Bragg, Richard Ashcroft, Madness and Gary Numan.

Cooking Vinyl has teamed up with PledgeMusic to launch a special 30th anniversary campaign offering music fans the chance to buy a range of exclusive items including a limited edition box set, which will be available on CD and vinyl with 70 tracks on each format and 32-page booklet.

The imprint is also launching a £30,000 industry fund, with the aim of giving something back to music industry artists, entrepreneurs and visionaries.

Under this new, bi-annual initiative Cooking Vinyl is investing an initial £30,000 to help artists needing development assistance, entrepreneurs seeking seed capital and those who want to use the power of music to make the world a better place.

Unlike other funds this is a loan based initiative that will encourage recipients to pay back into the scheme. The aim is to create something that can be made available to future generations of artists and entrepreneurs.

Interested parties can submit an initial application for funding via PledgeMusic who will oversee the process. This will be a global campaign open to all and successful finalists will then be invited to make a final pitch at Cooking Vinyl’s London HQ or via Skype if overseas.
