Commercial Radio Awards announces winners

Jess Glynne and Ed Sheeran were among the winners at the 2016 Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards.

Taking place last night (17 May) at London’s Roundhouse, the event celebrates excellence in the last twelve months of commercial radio and broadcasting.

Jess was awarded the PPL Breakthrough UK Artist of the Year Award while Ed won the PPL Most Played Artist on Commercial Radio prize.

PRS for Music sponsored the Commercial Radio Station of the Year category with prizes across various audience sizes.

The winners are below:

Gold: Radio Borders
Silver: 103.1 Central FM
Bronze: MFR

PRS for Music sponsored Commercial Radio Station of the Year (500,000 to 2m TSA)

Gold: Clyde 1
Silver: Hallam FM
Bronze: Metro Radio

PRS for Music sponsored Commercial Radio Station of the Year (2m + TSA)

Gold: Absolute Radio
Silver: Classic FM
Bronze: LBC

Other category winners included John Kennedy from Radio X as the 7 digital Music Champion Award and Global Radio’s Steven Miron as 2016 Industry Leader of the Year.
