Coldplay’s sixth album Ghost Stories is the biggest selling long player of 2014 so far, new Official Charts Company (OCC) data has revealed.
The album was released back in May and sold more than 168,000 copies during its first week of sales to knock Michael Jackson’s Xscape from the top spot.
According to OCC stats, the album has since sold more than 375,000 copies to date.
Paulo Nutini’s latest effort - his third full length record called Caustic Love - is second in the list after selling 329,000 plus units. Ellie Goulding’s Halcyon, which was originally released in 2012, became the first number one of 2014 due to this year's release of the deluxe edition.
